India is a beautiful country blessed with snow-laden mountains, marvelous beaches, and sun kissed deserts, romantic waterfalls and beguiling rivers. This exotic beauty is augmented by cultural and heritage attractions that includes heritage hotels and historical monuments.

Each part of India is famous for a unique set of attractions. From the freezing cold valleys of Kashmir to the sun kissed sand dunes of Rajasthan; North India has almost everything. North Indians are famous for their hospitality and warm-hearted attitude. Visit the vale of Kashmir to witness the marvelous apple orchards blossom in spring and the dry Chinar leaves, resembling wild fire, in the autumn. The chanting of Holy Scriptures in ashrams of Uttaranchal, the world famous ‘tehzeeb’ of Lucknow and the meditation on the banks of Ganges, makes this tour a lifetime opportunity.

The culture of North India is a concoction of diverse customs. These cultures are some of the oldest surviving cultures in the world. These include the culture of sultans, Mughals, Nawabs, Rajputs, and the 5000 year old Buddhist culture as well. India is home to the Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro civilizations; and four major world religions, i.e. Hinduism, Sikhism, Jainism and Buddhism. These holy lands blessed with these peace loving religions have a calendar full of festivals. To enjoy the marvelous cultural activities of North India, one needs to take a tour of this region during the festival season, i.e. February and March. Tbe Surajkund crafts mela in Haryana and Dusshera festival in Kullu are major features of this region. The Khajuraho dance festival showcases the major forms of dance in India.

The monuments and forts of Delhi showcase the unique art and architecture of Mughals and the Sultans. Some of the marvelous showpieces among the monuments and forts of Delhi are Red Fort, Humayun’s Tomb, Qutab Minar, Jantar Mantar, India Gate, Gurdawara Bangla Sahib and Akshardham Temple. The Red Fort was build by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. This colossus citadel was build from 1639 to 1648 with red stone. The main entrance to the fort is through Lahori Gate with some majestic smaller buildings inside. These include Diwan-i-Am (hall of public audience), Moti Masjid (pearl mosque), and Mumtaz Mahal. Another attraction is the Humayun’s tomb, build by his widow; Hamida Begum Banu. The high arches and double tomb build with red sandstone is the finest example of Mughal architecture. Yet another fascinating trip will be to Qutab Minar. This tower is the tallest brick tower in the world. It is 72.5 Meters tall with 399 steps to top. Apart from this Central Asian architectural marvel is a beautiful monument called Jantar Mantar. It is known as Delhi observatory and consists of fourteen geometric devices used for measuring time and forecasting weather. Among the religious places of importance in Delhi are Gurdawara Bangla Sahib and Akshardham Temple.

When it comes to choosing a North India tour package, the first thing for tourists to decide is the location of where they want to travel in North India. Do we want the rush of city life in New Delhi or the peace of the hill stations in the Himalayas? The second choice to make is the purpose of traveling. Is this a family trip or your honeymoon? The final consideration for your North India tour is the climate and cost. The choice ranges between the desert heat of Rajasthan and cool breeze of Kashmir.
